Mitarbeiter von Austrian Airlines riefen gestern spontan den #redstockingsday aus. Sie trugen einen Tag lang rote Socken für den guten Zweck. 351 Mitarbeiter schlossen sich der Aktion an. Sie kauften rote Strümpfe und Socken, die vom Haus- und Hof Uniformlieferanten Wagner & Glass kostenlos bereitgestellt wurden. 1.755 Euro wurden dabei „ertragen“. Die Spende soll nächste Woche an ROTE NASEN Clowndoctors http://www.rotenasen.at übergeben werden.

Im Mai 2015 hat Austrian Airlines in Summe 998.000 Passagiere befördert. Dies sind um rund 66.100 mehr Passagiere als im Monat davor (April 2015), was einem Plus von 6,6 Prozent entspricht. Im Vorjahresvergleich sind es aufgrund der Krisen in Russland, der Ukraine und im Nahen Osten erwartungsgemäß um 4,7 Prozent weniger als im Mai 2014. Darüberhinaus führte die Lage der Feiertage im Mai 2015 und die damit verbundene größere Anzahl an Feiertagen im Vergleich zu Mai 2014 zu einer schwächeren Buchungslage bei den Geschäftsreisenden. Das Angebot gemessen in angebotenen Sitzkilometern (ASK) stieg um 5,0 Prozent, was vor allem aus den Nordatlantik Flügen resultiert, die im Vergleichsmonat Mai 2014 noch nicht im Flugprogramm waren. Die ausgelasteten Passagierkilometer (RPK) sind um 0,9 Prozent gestiegen. Die Auslastung der Flüge (=Passagierfaktor) lag im Durchschnitt bei 75,4 Prozent und damit höher als im April 2015 (73,7 Prozent).
